Set it up once, and from then on you only need to edit the Excel file on your computer.
Install Google Drive in mirroring mode and register the share link of your stock Excel file on eGuro — then just editing and saving the stock file on your computer updates your eGuro stock automatically. There's no need to visit the site and upload a file every time.
Overall steps
- Install Google Drive (for desktop)
- Set the sync mode to Mirror files
- Put your stock Excel file in the My Drive folder
- Copy the share link of the Excel file
- Register the link in eGuro Inventory
It takes about 10–15 minutes the first time.
What you need
- A Google account (Gmail address). If you don't have one, you can create one for free at accounts.google.com.
- An eGuro business member account. Only business members can upload stock.
- A stock Excel file (.xlsx) in eGuro format. If the format is new to you, the easiest way is to get it via Download sample file and fill in your stock.
Step 1. Install Google Drive (for desktop)
Separately from Google Drive in your web browser, you need the "Google Drive for desktop" program installed on your computer. This program automatically keeps a folder on your computer in sync with Google Drive.
Windows
- In your browser, go to www.google.com/drive/download.
- Click the Download Drive for desktop button. The file GoogleDriveSetup.exe is downloaded.
- Double-click the downloaded file to run it, and click Yes when asked "Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?".
- When installation is finished, a Sign in with browser button appears. Click it, log in with your Google account, then click Sign in (allow).
- When the Google Drive icon (triangle shape) appears in the taskbar at the bottom right of the screen (next to the clock), installation is complete. If you don't see it, click ^ (Show hidden icons).
Mac
- At the same address www.google.com/drive/download, click Download Drive for desktop. The file GoogleDrive.dmg is downloaded.
- Open the downloaded file and double-click GoogleDrive.pkg to install it as instructed. (You may be asked for your Mac login password.)
- When installation is finished, click Sign in with browser and log in with your Google account.
- If you see a message like "System extension blocked", allow Google Drive in System Settings → Privacy & Security.
- When the Google Drive icon appears in the menu bar at the top right of the screen, installation is complete.
Step 2. How it works: streaming vs mirroring
Google Drive for desktop has two ways of showing your My Drive files on your computer.
| Item | Stream files (default after installation) | Mirror files ✔ Recommended for eGuro |
| Where files are | Only on Google's servers (cloud); your computer shows only the list. Files are downloaded each time you open them. | Files are stored identically on both Google's servers and your computer. |
| Location shown on your computer | Windows: G: drive (Google Drive) Mac: Google Drive in the Finder sidebar | Windows: a regular folder such as C:\Users\(your name)\My Drive Mac: Google Drive in the Finder sidebar (actual files on your computer) |
| When the internet goes down | Only files marked "Available offline" in advance can be opened. | You can open and edit all files as usual. They upload automatically when you reconnect. |
| Disk usage | Uses little. | Uses as much as the total size of your My Drive. |
| When editing in Excel | Downloaded every time you open it, and uploaded again when you save. | You edit the file on your computer directly, and it uploads automatically in the background as soon as you save. |
Why do we recommend mirroring?
- Because the stock file is always physically on your computer, you can open and edit it just as you normally use Excel.
- Google Drive uploads it the moment you save, so "what you edit on your computer = what eGuro fetches".
- Your work isn't blocked even if the internet drops briefly, and pending changes upload automatically once reconnected.
If your My Drive has many large files (videos, etc.) and your disk space is limited, mirroring can be a burden. In that case, one option is to create a separate Google account just for your stock file.

The steps in text
- Click the Google Drive icon in the taskbar (Windows: bottom right / Mac: top right).
- Click the gear (Settings) at the top right of the window that opens and choose Preferences.
- On the left of the Preferences window, click Google Drive (My Drive).
- Under My Drive syncing options, choose Mirror files.
- The mirroring folder location is shown. Leave it as is unless you have a particular reason. (On Windows, usually C:\Users\(your name)\My Drive)
- Click Save, and when asked to confirm the change, click Confirm (confirm folder location).
It then starts downloading your My Drive files to your computer. If you have many files this takes time, so please wait until it finishes. Click the Google Drive icon to see the progress.
※ Menu names may differ slightly depending on the program version. Look for "Syncing options" and "Mirror files".
Step 4. Put your stock Excel file in the My Drive folder
- Open the mirroring folder (My Drive, shown as 내 드라이브 on Korean-language systems) in File Explorer (Finder on Mac).
- For easy identification, create an eGuro folder and put your stock Excel file in it. Example: My Drive\eGuro\stock.xlsx
- When a green check mark appears on the file icon, it has been fully uploaded to Google Drive.
Be sure to follow these
- Keep the file format as Excel (.xlsx). If you convert it to Google Sheets and make a "copy", it becomes a different file.
- Keep your stock on the first sheet. eGuro reads only the first sheet.
- The column order is A Part number · B Date code · C Manufacturer · D Stock quantity · E Description · F Selling price · G Lead time. (See Check upload format on the Upload Stock screen)
Step 5. Copy the share link of the Excel file
Share it as "anyone with the link can view" so eGuro can fetch the file.
- In your browser, go to drive.google.com and log in with the same Google account.
- Find your stock Excel file in the My Drive → eGuro folder.
- Right-click the file and choose Share → Share.
- Under General access at the bottom, click Restricted and change it to Anyone with the link. Leave the role on the right as Viewer.
- Click Copy link, then click Done.
The copied link looks like this.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1AbCdEf…long string…/view?usp=sharing
- It must be a file link, not a folder link.
- Anyone who knows the link can view this file. eGuro reads only columns A–G and does not store anything from column H onward, but the file itself may be visible, so do not keep internal information such as purchase prices or customers in this file.
Step 6. Register the link on eGuro
- Log in to eGuro as a business member.
- From the top menu, go to Inventory → Upload Stock.
- In ① Choose upload method, select Fully Automatic Stock List.
- Paste the link you copied in Step 5 into the Fully Automatic Stock List field. (Ctrl+V, ⌘+V on Mac)
- Choose the update interval. Every 24 hours (once a day) is the default; every 48 or 72 hours can also be selected.
- Make sure Enabled is checked and click Save.
- Click Fetch now to try fetching once right away. If the completion screen shows the number of stock rows saved, it worked.
Setup is now complete.
From then on: just edit the Excel file
- Open My Drive\eGuro\stock.xlsx on your computer in Excel.
- Edit your stock and save. (Ctrl+S, ⌘+S on Mac)
- Google Drive uploads it automatically in the background. (Check for the green check mark)
- At each set interval, eGuro checks the file and, if it has changed, replaces your entire stock with the new content.
If you want it reflected right away, click Fetch now on the Upload Stock screen.
When the link changes (you must register it again)
- When you created a new file with Save As
- When you deleted the file and created a new one
- When you use a copy converted to Google Sheets
Always open and save the same file. Renaming the file or moving folders within the same drive is fine.
Frequently asked questions
Q. I get "Could not connect to the link" / "Could not read the file".
A. Check that sharing is set to Anyone with the link and that it is a file link, not a folder link.
Q. It says "0 stock rows to save".
A. Check that column A (part number) and column D (stock quantity) are not empty and that the stock is on the first sheet. In this case your existing stock is not deleted and stays as it is.
Q. I edited the Excel file, but it isn't reflected on eGuro.
A. Please check the following.
- Check that the file icon has a green check (upload complete). If Google Drive is paused, it won't upload.
- The next update interval may not have come yet. Try clicking Fetch now.
- Check the last checked/succeeded time and the result message on the Upload Stock screen.
Q. What happens if I turn off my computer?
A. The last saved file remains on Google Drive, so eGuro keeps your stock based on that file. No edits are made while your computer is off, so the next time you turn it on, edit and save, it will be uploaded then.
Q. I have a very large amount of stock.
A. Each company can register up to 10,000 rows of stock. If it exceeds that, the existing stock is kept and nothing is fetched.
Q. Do OneDrive and Dropbox work too?
A. Yes. OneDrive (personal and work) and Dropbox share links can be registered the same way. This post explains it using Google Drive.
